As you will hopefully know the team returned safely from the visit to Uganda in August. Here Lisa writes about her experience.
Philemon v5-7, “because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.”
For me, these words encapsulate my first ever mission trip, supporting the work of an African Dream,in East Kasese, Uganda. I went to encourage and refresh the hearts of the teachers, children, widows, pastors and their wives. In the process I gained a heart filled deeper with the love of Jesus and an insight into the tremendous impact An African Dream is making in the community.
Under the watchful eye of our loving Father God, I travelled as part of the Summer 2017 Team, each with our own strengths and weaknesses, gifting and talents. We bonded together, sharing our faith and encouraging others. Two incredible weeks that I’m very grateful to have experienced, one special memory was teaching the youngest children to remember that “Jesus died for my sins” using their five fingers.
Do get in touch with us if you think you might be interested to join a team in 2018 visiting Uganda.
